James "Jim" A. Selk, 77 of Eagle, passed away at home on September 19, 2022. He was born on December 7, 1944, in Des Moines, IA and was adopted by Arnold (Andy) & Bess (Mahan) Selk. After Bess passed away, Arnold married Alma Nilges. Jim attended Peru State College and received his BA in 1968 and later received his M.ED from UNL in 1972.

On August 22, 1970, he married Patricia Tesar in Dorchester, NE. He taught at Fairbury High School where he coached basketball and golf. After 35 years he retired in 2003. Jim was a member of St. Mark's Methodist Church and BPOE. He also coached youth baseball and basketball as well as being a longtime SCIP leader for Fairbury High School. Jim enjoyed model railroading and golf, but his greatest love was attending his grandchildren's activities.

Jim is survived by his wife Pat; sons Mike (Katie) Selk, Steve (Stacey) Selk; grandchildren Brayden & Chloe Selk, Jackson Selk; sister-in-law, Sharon & Vern Johnson, and brother-in-law, Dan & Cheryl Tesar; also many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Methodist Church. A public celebration of life will be held the afternoon of Sunday, October 23 at the Woodland Hills Golf Course clubhouse.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
