James (Jim) "Chester" A. Eisenhauer 73, Syracuse, formerly of Unadilla died Tuesday (9/30/08) at his home. Born November 24, 1934 at Unadilla to Albert and Mina (Goering) Eisenhauer.

Married Geraldine (Gerri) Walter on June 14, 1963 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Syracuse. Farmer. Jim raised Holstein cattle. U.S. Army Korean Conflict 1956-1958. Jim was a member of the Mid-Otoe County County VFW #5547 & the Massie-Richards Post $#100, American Legion. Member of Hope Lutheran Church, Burr; Hope Lutheran Church Council; served a term on the Unadilla School Board; member of the Unadilla Central Ground Hog Committee. He enjoyed being with his precious grandchildren & family.

Survivors: wife, Gerri Eisenhauer, Syracuse; son, Allen Eisenhauer & wife, Debbie, Bennet; daughter, Janell (Jan) Moore & husband, Chris, Unadilla; five grandchildren, Allison Moore; Turner Moore; Chloe Moore; Hannah Eisenhauer; Maggie Eisenhauer; sisters, Albert Block & husband, Keith, Unadilla; Jane Wendt & husband, Bill, Milford; nephews, Rich & Annette Block; Tom & Shelly Block; Jason & Tonja Wendt; Eric & Beth Wendt; Jeremy Wendt; also survived by many other relatives & friends.

Preceded in death by parents; and brother, Billy.

Memorial Service 11 a.m. Friday (10/3/08) at Hope Lutheran Church, Burr. Rev. Steve Billington.

Graveside Services 10 a.m. Friday @ Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse.

Visitation Thursday (10/2/08) from 3 p.m. til 9 p.m. with the family greeting & receiving friends & relatives from 5:30 p.m. til 7 p.m. all at the Funeral Home Chapel. * The casket will be open at the funeral home Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. til 9:30 a.m. before moving to the Cemetery for the Graveside Services. Casket will be closed at the Graveside Services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in care of the family.
