James William "Jim" Hoover, age 85 of Louisville, Nebraska passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born on December 18, 1940, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, to Milton R. and Iva E. (Carr) Hoover.
After graduating from Louisville High School in 1959, Jim dedicated his early years assisting his father in a scrap iron business. He later joined Western Electric, where he devoted 40 years of faithful service. It was during his tenure at Western Electric that he met the love of his life, Marilyn Beck. The couple was united in marriage on March 17, 1973, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Snyder, Nebraska. Together, they raised two cherished children, Rosetta and Mike.
Jim had a profound passion for farming. He devoted countless hours to caring for the land. He also contributed to his community by serving on the Louisville Village Board as Chairman and was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church. Additionally, he shared camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts in a CB Club.
Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn Hoover of Louisville, daughter, Rosetta Stroy of Murdock, NE; son, Mike (Kellie) Hoover of Louisville, NE; his grandchildren, Brent (Lindsey) Staack, Brittany Wiley, Wyatt (Callie) Stroy, Joshua Hoover and Zachary Hoover and great grandchildren, Adam, Sloan, Brielle, Logan, Xander and Miles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Iva Hoover and brother John Hoover.
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Christ Lutheran Church outside of Louisville, Nebraska with Rev. Janet Anderson Officiating. The family will greet friends one hour before the services at the Church.
Memorials may be directed to the Louisville Fire Department or Christ Lutheran Church.
