Obituary
James "Jim" Martin Schwab, 81 of Nebraska City formerly of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. Jim was born on August 13, 1932 in Pawnee City to Frank & Audrey (Martin) Schwab.
Jim graduated from Syracuse High School in 1950 and then joined the United States Navy serving on USS The Sullivans during the Korean War. Jim married Judith (Schroeter) Ghorashy on April 2, 1977 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, NE. He worked at Eastern Nebraska Public Power/OPPD, retiring after 36 years of service.
Jim was a life member of the VFW Post #5547, and a member of the American Legion Post #100. He enjoyed family, golfing, horses, traveling, and visiting with
friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Judith Schwab of Nebraska City; Son: Martin (Patty) Schwab of Murray, Daughters: Teri (Rodney) Nincehelser of Syracuse, Lori
Taylor of Fayetteville, AR, Son: Pasha (Rene) Ghorashy of Spokane, WA, Siblings: Marge Whitlow of Lincoln, Mary (Howard) Engelbrecht of Syracuse, Aubrey

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday January 13, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, NE with Rev. Gail Madson officiating.
Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday January 12 from Noon until 6 P.M. with family greeting friends from 4:30 to 6 P.M. at the funeral home.
