James Ray Persinger age 83 of Syracuse, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska.  He was born on December 8, 1934 in Scandia, Kansas to Guy and Katie (Ball) Persinger.

James was united in marriage to Lois F. Addleman on August 22, 1954 in Louisville, Nebraska.  Together, they raised two children, Kimberly and Kenneth.   James was a farmer and also worked as a construction worker.  He and Lois owned and operated the Rainbow Drive-In in Table Rock, Nebraska for many years.

James was a 4-H leader and enjoyed attending the activities of his children and grandchildren.  He and Lois enjoyed many years of traveling to Harlingen, TX to spend winters with friends.

He is survived by his Wife of 63 years,  Lois of Syracuse; Daughter: Kimberly (Danny) Cotton of Nebraska City; Grandson: Travis (Kelly) Findlay of Table Rock;  Step-grandchildren, Brian (Becky) Cotton of Omaha, NE; Crystal (Mike) Holthouse of Kansas City, MO; Logan (Shawna) Cotton of Overland Park, KS; 8 Great Grandchildren; Brother: Arlie (Marlene) Persinger of Plattsmouth; Brother-in-law: Raymond (Marge) Addleman of LeGrand, Oregon; Steve Gray of Oklahoma;  Sisters-in-law: Judy (Don) Howell of Phoenix, AZ and  Ruth Persinger of Louisville, NE

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Son: Kenneth James Persinger; Sister: Virginia (Clarence) Herman; Brothers: Billy Persinger, Omar (Kathryn) Persinger; Sister: Ruth Gray

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse, NE.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Louisville, NE.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
