James B. Rose Sr. was born April 22, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Bert and Lillian (Novak) Rose. He died Saturday, November 18, 2017, at his home with his loving family by his side, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 27 days.

Jim married Ruth Yelnek on February 11, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska, and to this union they raised three sons Steve, James Jr., and Scott. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jim and Ruth have owned the Louisville Liquor Store in Louisville since 1994. His fishing trips to Canada with old friends was always a fun time.

Jim is survived by his wife Ruth, of Louisville, NE, sons Steve (Susan), of Louisville, NE, and James Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren Hannah Rose, Sam Rose, Christopher Van Horn, and Briana Van Horn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Scott.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Chapel, 413 Elm Street, Louisville, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Louisville, Nebraska

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. all at the funeral home.
