James L. Sawyer, was born March 21, 1935 in Burr, Nebraska to Ross Moslander, and Alice Sawyer. He entered into Heaven, Friday, June 12, 2009, at Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, with his beloved family in attendance. Jim was 74 years, 2 months, and 22 days.
Jim married Patsy Sue Dobbs, on May 28, 1960, in Louisville, Nebraska, and to this union they raised 3 children, Jim Jr., Brad, and Rhonda. He served in the United States Army in the 7th Calvary, where he became a Sharp Shooter, and even Boxed. Jim worked for Western Sand and Gravel for 47 years, but he enjoyed KENO, Horse Racing, watching all Sports like, Base Ball (Boston Red Sox), and Husker Football to name a few.
Jim is survived by his wife Patsy Sue, son Jim Jr (Harm) both of Louisville, Nebraska, son Brad (Julie) Sawyer, of Omaha, Nebraska, and daughter Rhonda (Richard) Bunz, of Hooper, Nebraska, 5-grandchildren aunt Betty Sawyer, of Syracuse, brothers Marvin Churchill, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ross (Norma) Moslander, of Springfield, Missouri, sister Donnitta Heard, of Tarkio, Missouri, brothers-in-law Robert and Randy Dobbs, sisters-in-law Judy & Don McKinney, both of Louisville, Nebraska, and Deb O'Driscoll, of Kansas City, also nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Served in the ARMY's 7th Calvary, from 1957~1959. He retired from Western Sand & Gravel after 47 years, in the gravel business. Jim loved Keno and all sports.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church, 304 Main Street, Louisville, Nebraska, with burial at Riverview Cemetery. Family Suggests Memorials to First Christian Church, Louisville, NE
VISITATION will be Monday June 15, 2009 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M., with the family greeting Friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. all at the funeral home, 413 Elm Street, Louisville, NE
