Obituary

Jane Louise Crane was born on December 31, 1935 in Lincoln, Nebraska to John W. and Clara E. (Martin) MacKenzie. She entered into rest on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Plattsmouth, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 12 days.

Jane grew up between Lincoln and Milford, Nebraska. She attended and graduated from Milford High School. After graduating she attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln School of Agriculture for one year. She met Arvil L. Crane and they were married on December 3, 1955 in Milford, Nebraska. Arvil and Jane traveled during his time in the Military but made their home in Plattsmouth after his retirement from the Military. Jane spent her time caring for her family and home, as a family they welcomed various foster children into their home throughout the years. Jane was a strong supporter of the Special Olympics.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Arvil Crane of Plattsmouth, NE; children: David Crane and wife Sherry of East Jordan, MI; Michael Crane and wife Susan of Lincoln, NE; Gary Crane and wife Vicki of Bellevue, NE; Mary Ann Stones of Plattsmouth, NE; Roger Crane of Hastings, NE; Jason Crane of Plattsmouth, NE; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brother: Jerry MacKenzie and wife Cathy of Seward, NE. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents and son Brian Crane

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Rev. Jim Nielsen officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 15th from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Rural Plattsmouth, NE.

Memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics or the Open Door Mission.
