Janet E. Kage, 79 of Cook, passed away on June 15, 2025, at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was born on September 4, 1945, to Jesse & Verna (Dodd) Breeling in Lincoln.

On November 28, 1961, Janet married Danny L. Kage Sr. in Marysville, KS. She worked for many years as a nurse's aide at Lancaster Manor and later in security before retiring. She also sold Avon for many years.

Janet loved to sew, do puzzles, and she had a special fondness for white tigers. She was known for her delicious sloppy joes and potato salad, and she always supported her husband, holding the family together with strength and love. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Danny Jr. (Debra) Kage, David Kage, Duane Kage, Douglas Kage, Jeannette (Gideon) Woodcook, and Ryan Kage; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings: Robert (Susan) Breeling and Patricia Olstad; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband Danny; and siblings Lyle Breeling and Phyllis Stehr.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service in the basement at FirstBank of Nebraska, located at 320 5th St. in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
