Janet M. Wendt age 86 of Adams formerly of Murdock, NE passed away on April 5, 2021 at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams, Nebraska.  She was born on August 8, 1934 in Murdock, Nebraska to Louis and Elsie (Jochim) Kupke.

Janet graduated from Murdock High School with the Class of 1952.  She met and was united in marriage to Wayne R. Wendt on September 7, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church near Murdock.  Together they made a home on a farm near Murdock and began farming along with raising their three daughters, Linda, Nancy and Cathy.

She has been a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Aide.  Janet was very proud of her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren brought much joy to her life.  She also enjoyed quiet time, reading the newspaper and baking pies and cookies to share with family and friends.

She is survived  by daughters, Linda (Gary) Kroese of Adams, NE, Nancy (Rob) Phillips of Murdock, NE, Cathy (Matt) Miller of Waverly, NE, grandchildren, Marcus (Farah) Kroese, Laura (Grant) Francke, Kristin (Travis) Kroeker, Chelsea (Austin) Hanson, Chad (Crystal) Phillips, Drew & Brennan Miller, great grandchildren, Caspian & Zion Kroese, Madelyn & Brenden Francke, Kash, Knox & Baby Kroeker, Phillip Hanson, Harley Phillips & Domonic Hanika-Brown, brother, Marvin (Cheryl) Kupke of Louisville, NE, sister-in-law, Shirley Rieke of Arvada, CO.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Wendt.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Jon Sollberger officiating.  Live Streaming will be on the Funeral Home Facebook Page.

Visitation will be Friday, April 9, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 5-7 PM at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to Gold Crest Retirement Center or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
