Obituary
Jerold Ray Bailey was born on June 19, 1942 in Nuckolls County, Nebraska to Claude and Florence (Reiselt) Bailey. He passed away on Friday, March 26, 2010 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 7 days.
On November 19, 1971, Jerold was united in marriage to Roberta Shoemake in Nebraska City, Nebraska, together they raised four children, Lori, Keith, Kim and Michael. He is a 43 year member of the Ironworkers Local #21 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Jerold enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching sports on T.V. especially the Nebraska Cornhusker Football games and the L.A. Dodgers Baseball and doing a little mushroom hunting from time to time. He could always be counted on by his neighbors to lend a helping hand when they were in need. He also liked sharing a story or two with friends over coffee at the Beaver Lake Amoco station. Regardless of all other things, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his Wife: Roberta Bailey of Murray, NE; Children: Lori Nye and husband Keith of Belle Vista, AR; Keith Bailey and wife Jo of Bellevue, NE; Kim Bailey of Omaha, NE; Michael Bailey of Murray, NE; 4 Grandchildren: Dawna Nye of Menomonie, WI; Derek Nye of Belle Vista, AR; Everett & Gage Bailey of Bellevue, NE; Brothers: Ward Bailey of Plattsmouth, NE; Nicholas Bailey of Lincoln, NE; Sisters: Nancy Bracken and husband Clifford of Fremont, NE: Mrytle Delka and husband Ted of Guide Rock, NE; Maybelle Ruxton and husband Robert of Hastings, NE; Jean Loya of Clifton, AZ. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Judy Bailey
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Murray Christian Church in Murray, Nebraska with Rev. Larry Hammons officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.m. at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Lewiston Cemetery in rural Murray, Nebraska.
