Jimmie Dale Wellman was born on August 18, 1952 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Duane and Edith Wellman. He passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at his home near Burr, Nebraska at the age of 55 years, 1 month and 15 days.

After graduating from high school, Jimmie served in the United States Air Force from 1971 until 1974. During his time in the Air Force he served in Vietname, Thailand and Italy as well as being stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. After his discharge from the Air Force, he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for five years as a Signalman. His knowledge of the electrical business allowed him to operate his own business until he decided to join the Electrical Workers Union #265 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Jimmie was united in marriage on March 31, 1997 to Verna Hauptmeier in Deadwood, South Dakota.

He is survived by his Wife: Verna Wellman of Burr, NE; Son: Matt Wellman and girlfriend Sarah Runge of Adams, NE; Parents: Duane & Edith Wellman of Syracuse, NE; Brothers: Richard Wellman of Burr, NE; Gary Wellman of Bellevue, NE; Step Children: Michael Boden and wife Lucy of Lincoln, NE: Michelle Boden of California; Step Grandchildren: Keegan Boden of Lincoln, NE; Uncle/Aunt: Donald & Lois Wellman of Auburn, NE. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in Death by his Grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at Hope Lutheran Church in Burr, Nebraska with Rev. William Dressen officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 5th from Noon until 9:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home in Syracuse.

Memorials may be directed to the Wellman Family.

Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, NE
