Joan Kathryn Lechner was born November 27, 1933 in Alliance, Nebraska, to Raymond J. and Clara E. (Wolfe) Babb. She died on January 8, 2016 at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 82 years, 1 month, and 12 days.

Joan married Eugene Lechner on November 19, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, and to this union they raised seven children - Lynn, Karen, Ron, Richard, Mark, Doug, and Jeff. She worked for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company in Omaha, Nebraska, Woolworths in Nebraska City, Nebraska, American Legion Club, and JoBob's both of Syracuse, Nebraska.

Joan is survived by her husband, Eugene Lechner of Syracuse; Children: Lynn Trimble of Euless, TX, Karen (Angie Fiedler) Lechner of Papillion, Ron (Sherry) Lechner of Lincoln, Richard (Kathy) Lechner of Unadilla, Mark (Dwaine) Lechner of Kansas City, MO, Doug (Julie) Lechner of Grand Island, Jeff (Barb) Lechner of Lincoln; 12 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Clara Babb.

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, 863 5th Street, Syracuse, NE.

Family suggest memorials to the families choice.

Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, NE.

Visitation will be Monday, January 11 from 9 A.M. until 5 P.M. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse. Family will greet friends at St. Paulinus Catholic Church in Syracuse from 6-7 P.M. with Rosary starting at 7.
