JoAnn Petereit age 92 of Louisville, Nebraska passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home in rural Louisville, Nebraska. She was born on October 5, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to Clell and Dorothy (Sedlak) Gansemer.
JoAnn grew up on the family farm outside of Nehawka, Nebraska. She graduated from Nehawka High School in 1946 with plans to become a teacher. She met Kenneth Petereit and the two were married on December 11, 1948 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska and together raised six children, Terry, Debra, Jody, Kevin, Lori and Joel. She was a dedicated wife and mother enjoying time with her family. JoAnn was active in the family farm operation as well as serving as the Heil School District 88 secretary for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Bea) Petereit of Lincoln, NE, Joel (Lorraine) Petereit of Louisville, NE, daughters, Debra Platt of Murdock, NE, Jody (Barry) Parson of Cedar Creek, NE and Lori (Russell) Gray of Louisville, NE, brother, Duane (Ruth) Gansemer of Syracuse, NE, sister-in-law, Kathy Gansemer of Weeping Water, NE, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth Petereit, son, Terry Petereit, daughters-in-law, LouAnne Petereit and Pam Petereit, son-in-law, Tom Platt, grandson, Johnny Anson, sisters, Phyllis Hespen and Sharon Krejci, brothers, Alfred Gansemer and Ronnie Gansemer
No Visitation, No services as her wishes to be cremated and later buried at Glendale Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Tabitha Hospice or the Open Door Mission.
