John Doeden was born May 23, 1917, in Cook, Nebraska, to Ayelt and Anna (Miller) Doeden. He passed away, Thursday March 26, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Center, Syracuse, Nebraska, at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 3 days.
John married Mary Helen Seyersdahl, on October 10, 1947 and to this union they raised 3 children Donald, Sharilyn, and Raymond Doeden. Care givers were Carol Linquest and Elda Boardman. He worked as a farmer and construction worker. John was a memeber of St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) Church, were he was Baptized & Confirmed there. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, in rural Cook, Nebraska. John was a member of the Bickel-Nelson Post #360, American Legion, of Cook, Nebraska, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, also Contractors, Laborers, Teamsters, and Engineers Union. He and Mary enjoyed going around to different communities dancing all the time.
John is survived by his daughter Sharilyn & James Rector, of Lincoln, NE daughter-in-law Mary Leda Doeden, of Cook, NE, grandson Jay Rector, of Wakefield, KS 2 great grandsons, Jordan Rector & Derrick Rector, also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, sons Donald W. Doeden in 2006, and H. Doeden in 1998, also 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage), Cemetery, rural Cook, Nebraska.
VISITATION will be Sunday from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. then Monday, from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. all at the Funeral Home. THE CASKET WILL BE CLOSED AT THE GRAVESIDE SERVICE.
