John Harrison Gayer 88, Denver, Colo., passed away quietly Monday (9/8/08). Born in Plattsmouth, the eldest child of Captain Harrison L. Gayer and Helen Humpe Gayer. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp during WWII; and retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1975. He had a long career in the communications industry.
Survivors: wife, Dorothy; three children, John Gayer, Albuquerque, N.M.; Diane Gayer, Burlington, Vt.; Dwight Gayer, Steamboat Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Sortino; brother, Bill Gayer; nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service 11 a.m. Saturday (9/13/08) at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth.
