John E. Groesser was born on December 6, 1919 in Weeping Water, Nebraska to Rubin and Ethel (Wiles) Groesser. He passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the LegacyTerrace in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 4 days.

John was raised, schooled and lived the majority of his life in Weeping Water, Nebraska. He was united in marriage on March 17, 1956 to Pearl L. Schultz at the United Methodist Church in Weeping Water, Nebraska. Together they raised a son Steven. John worked for many years as the Farm Extension Director at the ASCS office in Weeping Water, Nebraska.

He is survived by his Son, Steve Groesser and wife Laurie, of Lincoln, NE: Grandchildren: Shannon and husband Charles Herrick of Weeping Water, NE and Michael Groesser of Lincoln; Great Grandchildren: Cassandra, Kiley & Kaelyn Herrick ; Nephews: Don and Deb Groesser Family of Ralston, NE; John and Dorothy Groesser Family of Grimesland, NC Niece: Nancy and Steve Flader of Lincoln, NE; Bill and Nancy Desler Family of Bentonville, AR Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Pearl L. Groesser and Brother Alvin & Jeanette Groesser; Brother-in-law: Frederick & Betty (Groesser) Schultz

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Weeping Water, Nebraska with Rev. Sandi Webster officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 11th from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Weeping Water, Nebraska

Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church or Family's Choice.
