Josephine M. Yearsley was born June 18, 1924, in Nehawka, Nebraska, to Elmer (Eugene) and Josephine (Knabe) Fitch. Jo died Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at the Ambassador in Nebraska City, Nebraska, at the age of 92 years, 2 months, and 12 days.

Jo graduated High School in Nehawka in 1941, and then married Dewey (Arnold) Yearsley on January 21, 1947 at United Brethren Church, Nehawka, Nebraska and to this union they raised two girls Shirley, and Cathy. As a Farmwife she always had something to keep her busy plus Teaching Sunday School, and member of the VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary, both of Syracuse. She was also a member of St. John's ELCW and Missionary Society.

Jo is survived by her daughters: Shirley (Mick) Gude, Omaha; Cathy (Don) Halbasch, Syracuse; Grandchildren: Scott (Mandy) Gude, Jacksonville, FL; Tara (Jon) Kramer, Omaha; Heidi Fishpaw (Darrell Ross), Syracuse; Theresa (Chad) Halbasch-Peterson, LaVista; Great Grandchildren: Samantha & Alex Gude, Ryan & Kelsey Kramer, Josh Fishpaw, Jordan & Zachary Ross; Sister-in-law: Barbara Yearsley; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jo is preceded in Death by her Parents, Husband: Dewey (Arnold), Siblings: Elmer (Ruth) Fitch, Sister: Lottie (Julian) Johnson, Brother-in-law: Earl (Mary Donna) Yearsley, Kenneth (Donna Jean) Yearsley.

Memorial services will be Saturday September 3, 2016 at 2 P.M., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 726 2nd Street, Otoe, NE, with burial of remains at a later date. Family suggests memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church, Otoe.

Visitation will be 1 hour before the start of the service at church.
