Obituary
Joyce L. Speck was born on July 20, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska to James and Betty Miner. She passed away peacefully at her home in Murray, Nebraska on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the age of 51 years, 5 months and 16 days.
She was united in marriage on June 16, 1978 to Jerome Speck, Sr. at the Murray Presbyterian Church. Together they raised three sons, Jerome, Jr., Jayd & Justin. Joyce worke for one year as a dispatcher for Lifenet Helicopter in Omaha, she then became a dispatcher for the Cass County Sheriffs office and most recently worked as a Records Supervisor for the Plattsmouth Police Department. She also served on the Murray Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department for 8 years as an EMT, and as a Captain for the department.
She is survived by her Husband: Jerome Speck, Sr. of Murray, NE; Sons: Jerome Speck, Jr. of Plattsmouth, NE; Jayd Speck and Girlfriend Terina Dallas of Plattsmouth, NE; Justin Speck of Murray, NE; Grandchildren: Candace Speck and Jameson Speck; Parents: James & Betty Miner of Talmage, NE; Sisters: Chris Fisher and husband Lewis of Melcher, IA; Jamee Beccard and husband Bruce of Gravette, Ark; Brother: Jimmy Miner and wife Denise of Omaha, NE; Mother-in-law: LaVon Speck of Plattsmouth, NE: Brother-in-law: John A. Speck of Ogallala, NE; Sisters-in-law: JoNon Hobson and husband Mike of Beaver Lake, NE; Jana Lindsey and husband Kevin of Weeping Water, NE. Also Survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Daughter: Stephanie Speck; Father-in-law: John G. Speck; Nephew: Joseph S. Miner
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Murray Christian Church in Murray, Nebraska with Rev. Larry Hammons officiating.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11th from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Nehawka, Nebraska.
