Judith "Judy" Ann Root age 76 of Manley, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Midlands Hospital in Papillion, Nebraska.  She was born on October 25, 1944 in Bertha, Missouri to Elwood and Elva (Cooley) LeRoy.

She was united in marriage to James "Jim" Root on February 16, 1962 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska and together they raised two children, Jackie and Jimmy.  Throughout her life, she worked as a cook for the Elmwood Senior Center, the Louisville Senior Center and at the Manley Hideaway.  She loved to visit with friends whether riding her scooter around Manley or running into someone at the grocery store, she never knew a stranger.  She enjoyed bowling, trips to the casino and working puzzles.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Jackie Houchin and friend Dan Ruckman of Avoca, NE, grandchildren, Josh, Anthony, Ryan and Samantha Houchin, great grandson, Jaxson Houchin, and brother-in-law, Jim Kritenbrink of Gretna, NE.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Root, son, Jimmy Root, sister, Merna Kritenbrink and brother Doyle LeRoy.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Judy's Life at 2:00 PM at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, NE.

Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Louisville.
