Julia Marie Christine Nelsen McDonald, 94 of Lake Charles, LA, formerly of Avoca, NE. was born to Marcus and Lenora Nelsen on January 02, 1917, in Avoca, NE. She died at 4:53 P.M. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in a local Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.

Mrs. McDonald Lived in Nebraska for 66 years, moved to Florida in 1983 and has lived in Lake Charles for the past 19 years. She will always be remembered as an independent woman, who was very devoted to her family. She married Robert R. McDonald May 13, 1936.

She is survived by her children; Nora Crouse, of Pace FL., Barbara (Ludwig) of Avoca, Robert (Julie) McDonald, and Julie (Danny) Woods, all of Spring, TX, and Mary (Dan) Hardesty, of Lake Charles, LA; sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. McDonald; brother, Edward Nelsen; and her parents, Marcus and Lenora Nelsen.

Funeral Services are at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 16 at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Chapel, 644 Park St., Syracuse, NE. Burial is at Avoca Cemetery, in Avoca, NE.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 15, from 9:00 A.M. till 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
