Obituary
June A. Johnson was born on June 22, 1914 in Shubert, Nebraska to Jess and Cora (Chandler) Barker. She passed away on Monday August 15, 2011 at Syracuse Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 97 years, 1 month and 24 days.
June married Elmer Johnson in 1932 at Hiawatha, Kansas. To this union they raised 4 children, Jerry, Belva, Darrel and David. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and the quilting group at the church. She enjoyed cooking and working in her flower garden. She worked at the grocery store in Avoca for many years and was also a farmwife.
She is survived by her Children: Jerry Johnson of Texas, Belva & Harlan Kirchhoff of Avoca, NE, Darrel & Jan Johnson of Avoca, NE, David & Becky Johnson of Des Moines, IA, 9 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren, Sister: Ena Jones of Fort Bragg, CA
She was preceded in by her parents, husband Elmer, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at First Congregational Church in Avoca, Nebraska with Rev. Mary McQueen officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be at the Avoca Cemetery in Avoca, Nebraska.
The family suggests memorials to the First Congregational Church in Avoca.
