Obituary

June Elain Linke age 82, of Syracuse, NE formerly of Bassett, NE was born in Cordova, NE, to Lawrence and Vergie (Belden) Johnsen. She passed away, Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Good Samaritan Center, Syracuse, NE

June married Karl Linke, on June 27, 1948, and to this union they raised, Junelle, Karl, Norma, Ronald, and Cheryl.

June is survived by her, children (spouses) Junelle (Jim) Mongno, of Jacksonville, AR, Karl L. (Lois) Linke, of Syracuse, NE, Norma (Robert) Bolton, of Annapolis, MD, Ronald (Diane) Linke, of Norfolk, NE, and Cheryl (Joe) Hazel, of Omaha, NE grandchildren, Timothy and Tami Linke, Mandy and Brian Smidt, Summer Linke, Abigail Linke, Gabriel Linke and fiancé Julie Meedel, and Devon Bolton; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Maya, Payton, Garrett, Mikah, Kylen, and Katherine; brother Donald Johnsen, of Lincoln, sister's-in-law Marge Bussinger and Fran Walkes; brother-in-law and wife, Charles and Vonnie Linke; cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

June is preceded in Death by: her husband Karl, her parents, parents-in-law, sisters Norma Johnsen, Virginia and husband Harry Mogensen, brother Darwin Johnsen, sister-in-law Dorothy Johnsen, brother's-in-law Erny Bussing, and Ray Walkes, granddaughter Sarah June, and daughter-in-law Mary.

Ranching, and Dairy farm, also gave way to be a member of the Bassett Methodist Church and active in many other Bassett community organizations, Sybrant Church, WSCS, Nite Owls extension Club, Farm Bureau (was Farm Bureau Woman of the Year, bowling leagues, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked at the Rock County Hospital as a Nurse Aide. June always grew a large garden and continued to do so for years after her children were gone, for to her it was therapeutic and time to talk with God. She could prepare the best meals and baked cakes for many Rock County, Weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays.

Funeral Services Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church, Bassett, NE

June graduated from Lincoln High School, in Lincoln, NE and was employed at the telephone company in Lincoln, NE

VISITATION in Syracuse, will be Monday, September 21, 2009 from 6 until 8 at the Fusselman Wymore funeral home 644 Park Street, Syracuse, NE, she will be taken to Bassett, for Visitation and Services.
