Kala A. Griepenstroh, 35 of Talmage, passed away on May 23, 2019 in Omaha after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 8, 1983 to Tom & Chris (Duncan) Ahrens in Papillion.

Kala married Lance Griepenstroh on July 25, 2009 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. She worked for the state of Nebraska in the Otoe County court and then as a probation officer. Kala was involved with the Moms group in Syracuse and Breast Cancer group in Omaha and the surrounding area. She was a social butterfly and loved to make friends.

She is survived by her Husband: Lance Griepenstroh of Talmage; Children: Taylor & Kaden Griepenstroh at home; Parents: Tom & Chris Ahrens of Murray; Brother: Travis Ahrens of Otoe; Grandparents: Robert & Mary Lee Duncan of Nebraska City; Nieces & Nephews: Gavin & Thomas Ahrens, Braiden Kendall, Tyler Sears, Emma Panko; Parents-in-law: Larry & Kim Griepenstroh of Cook; Brother-in-law: Jeremy (Jackie) Griepenstroh of Burr; Sister-in-law: Kelsey Ahrens of Syracuse; Grandparents-in-law: Sterling & Betty Teten of Syracuse; Mary Griepenstroh of Syracuse; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Grandparents: LeeRoy & Dorothy Ahrens and Grandfather-in-law: Arthur Griepenstroh.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 10 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Talmage.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 27th from 9 A.M. until 3 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse, then at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. Family will greet friends from 5-7 P.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be directed to the Griepenstroh family to establish an education fund for Kala's children.
