Karen Michelle Kimpel, 54, of Syracuse, peacefully passed away after a courageous battle against cancer on March 10, 2024. She was born on October 15, 1969, to Lee & Paula (Williams) Pollard in Mount Carmel, Illinois.

A dedicated paraprofessional at Syracuse Elementary School, Karen's passion for working with children touched the lives of many. She also served as a welcoming receptionist at Syracuse Family Eye Care and worked part-time at the Syracuse Library.

Karen found joy in various activities, including baking, antiquing, and thrift store shopping, often accompanied by her father. Possessing a green thumb, she poured her heart into flower and vegetable gardening. Karen was a skilled crafter, particularly in crocheting.  She relished attending all her children's school and sporting events. Fishing and creating cherished memories with her loved ones also brought her solace. May Karen's memory forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving children Nikki Kimpel and Noah Kimpel; her father, Lee Pollard, and his wife Joyce Pardee; her mother, Paula, and her husband Les Filmore; her brother, Jeffrey Pollard, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page.
