Kay Bremer, 83 of Syracuse, passed away on April 28th, 2024, at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln. She was born on October 30th, 1940, to Elmer "Dutch" & Anna (Eisenhauer) Watermeier in Lincoln, Kay's journey was one of love, service, and unwavering faith.

Growing up near Burr, she was a proud graduate of the last class of Burr in 1958. On September 10th, 1959, she married Ralph Miesbach at the Hope Lutheran Church in Burr. Together, they were blessed with three daughters: Nancy, Jane, and Cindy. Kay's career included various roles at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center and Maverick Media. When Ralph started his printing business, she worked alongside him until retirement. Ralph passed away in 2000. On October 8th, 2005, she married John Bremer and they enjoyed life together until his passing in 2012.

Kay's devotion to her faith was profound, evident in her numerous volunteer roles at Luther Memorial. She was a dedicated member of the community, serving in the VFW Aux., and on the Germanfest Committee and Cemetery Board. Known for her compassionate nature, Kay selflessly cared for others, by accompanying them to appointments, delivering meals, and assisting at the food pantry. Her cherished moments were those spent with family and friends, especially when she was playing card games or taking road trips.

She is survived by her daughters Jane (Chuck) Hart & Cindy (Kirk) Kastens; stepchildren Jerry (Ranae) Bremer, Sue Eiserman, Lisa Lintner, Julie (Tim) Reimer; grandchildren Samantha Hart, Olivia, Katherine & Jack Kastens; step grandchildren Matthew (Amber) Bremer, Kayla (Neil) Thompson, Samuel (Ali) Eiserman, Jacob (Anneliese) Eiserman, Sydney (Zach) Heitkamp, Cody Lintner, Haley (Riley) Santin, Emily (Chance) Chrisman; and many step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Ralph Miesbach & John Bremer, daughter Nancy Miesbach and brother Steve Watermeier.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 2nd at 2 p.m. at Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page. Burial will follow at the Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1st from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to Lutheran Family Services, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or Syracuse Food Pantry.
