Lana M. Hespen, 71 of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the Syracuse Hospital. She was born on June 13, 1950, to Richard & Esther (Paulson) Griebenow in Clermont, IA. In 1968 she graduated from Valley High School in Clermont.

Lana married Rodney Hespen on May 25, 1991, in Syracuse. She worked at Nashua Paper Products in Omaha for 36 years.

She is survived by her Husband: Rodney Hespen; Brother: Dennis (Rose) Griebenow; Nephew: Christian (Siv) Griebenow; Great Nephews: William & Richard Griebenow; Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law: Jerry (Judy) Hespen; Nephew-in-law: Ed (Joanna) Zastera; Nieces-in-law: Chelsey (Tony) Schommer, Ashley Hespen & Val Lopez; Great Nephews-in-law & Nieces-in-law: Paige (Dillon) Niedermeyer, Ethan & Jackson Zastera, Sofia, Olivia & Stella Schommer; Great Great Nephew-in-law: Branch Niedermeyer; Special Friends: Elaine Elagoz, Joyce Marlow, Greg & Wendy Larson, Noah & Jodi Larson, Colby & Haley Larson; also many coworkers and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents: Richard & Esther Griebenow; Brother: Paul Louis Griebenow; Parents-in-law: John & Lois Hespen; Brother-in-law: Roger Hespen.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, September 1 at 5:00 P.M. with a visitation from 1-5 P.M. all at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society.
