Larry Boardman was born on November 12, 1935 in Bellevue, Nebraska to Toney and Elsie (Renner) Boardman. He died on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 8 months, and 1 day.
Relatives surviving include daughter Stacey & husband Doug Petty and their children Ashley & husband Chris Aberle, Lindsay, and Hannah; daughter - Trisha & husband Jay Davenport, and their children Katilyn, and Michael. Larry's sister Elenor Dennis, and brothers Butch Boardman, and Bob Boardman, along with many nieces and nephews.
Larry graduated in 1957 from Milford Technical School with a degree in Automotive Transmission. He used his knowledge working as a mechanic at the local Chevrolet Dealership in town, continuing through three different owners - starting with Lueken's, then Berner's and finally Copple's. Being a mechanic was not the only job he excelled at during his life. He sold bait from home, worked at Jeff's Grocery, and worked at the State Lakes Concession Stand for 10 years. Larry served 7 years on the Louisville Fire Rescue Department. Larry loved all animals and they trusted him too. A favorite story the family shared included a dog named Judd that pulled her dog house to the garage looking for Larry because kids were bothering her pups. Another special dog was Peanuts, a Dachshund. Larry always had a smile on his face and a friendly word to say to people.
