Larry L. Halvorsen
February 9, 1938 – May 17, 2024

Larry Halvorsen, 86, of Unadilla, NE born to Herman Earl and Minnie (Beckard) Halvorsen on February 9, 1938, on a farm north of Unadilla. He passed away on May 17, 2024, at his farm south of Unadilla, NE. He graduated from Unadilla High School in 1955.

Larry was a lifetime farmer while also working at American Stores, Lincoln, NE and Campbell Soup, Tecumseh, NE retiring in 1997. He was in the Army Reserves from 1963 to 1968.

He overwhelmed his friends and relatives with produce from his garden, sweet corn, watermelon, tomatoes, etc.

He was united in marriage to Rose Marie Gray, November 8, 1967, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Davey, NE.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Son, Scott (Linda) Halvorsen, Syracuse NE grandson Tom (Valerie) Emerson, Lincoln NE and granddaughter, Shelly (Tim) LaPointe, Lincoln NE Son Lee (Kasha) Halvorsen, and granddaughter Elisabeth, Allen, TX. Eight great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law Wilma Halvorsen – widow of Virgil (Ted), Palmyra, NE and Carol Ann Gray, Davey, NE plus many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Earl and Minnie; parents-in-law Roy F. and Helene Gray, brothers: John, Earl Jr., Virgil (Ted), brother and sister-in-law, Marvin (Jennie), sister and brother-in-law Marie (Delbert) Heather. Grandson, Christopher Halvorsen. Brother-in-law, Carl R. Gray.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Unadilla, NE. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page. Inurnment will be at the Unadilla Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9th from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. with family greeting friends and relatives from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the Unadilla Volunteer Fire & Rescue or Syracuse Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
