Larry Meisinger, age 77, of LaVista, NE passed away on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, at Cedarhurst of LaVista.
Larry was born on February 25th, 1947, to Gail Junior and Katherine (Ingram) Meisinger in Louisville, Nebraska. He was raised and attended school in Louisville. Larry was drafted into the Army in 1969 and served through 1971.
Larry married Marshia Miller on August 19th, 1967, at the First United Methodist Church in Louisville. They lived in Alaska and California before returning to Nebraska to raise their three children in Ralston. Larry dedicated his life to working hard and providing for his wife, children, and later grandchildren. Larry began his career working with his father in a cartage business. He spent his later career as a sales manager for A1 Metro Movers. During his retirement, Larry worked part-time at the Manheim Auto Auction, later Ziepke Motors, played many rounds of golf, and spent lots of time with his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife, Marshia, son Brandon (Angie) Meisinger, and daughters Deana Walocha and Angie (Kirk) Peterson, all of Omaha. Eight grandchildren, Logan Peterson, Reese Peterson, Samuel Walocha, Brody Peterson, Isabel Walocha, Charlotte Meisinger, Vince Peterson, and Landon Meisinger, all of Omaha. Sister: Deanna Monohon of Lansdale, PA; two sisters-in-law: Deborah (Michiel) Fontenot of Papillion, NE, Janice Miller of Louisville; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Michael Miller.
A funeral service will be held on October 15th at 10:30am at the Louisville Methodist Church in Louisville.
A visitation will be held on October 14th from 1:00pm - 8:00pm with the family greeting friends from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Louisville.
His final resting place will be at Glendale Cemetery in rural Louisville.
Memorials may be directed to the American Legion Post #353 of Louisville or the Alzheimer's Association.
