Obituary

Larry G. Rhoten was born February 22, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Carlton and Louise (Mischnick) Rhoten. He passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at his home in Syracuse, Nebraska.

Larry married Bonita (Bonnie) Jacobson on July 31, 1967, in Otoe, Nebraska, and to this union they raised one son Theron John. Larry taught Social Studies for Jr. and Sr. High School at Raymond Central, Ashland, Silver Creek, and Twin Rivers in Genoa, Nebraska. Larry coached Football, Basketball, and Track. He loved to go fishing, work with the Sprint Cars, play cards, go boating, hunt Pheasants, and wood working.

Larry is survived by his wife Bonnie of Syracuse, NE, Son: Theron John (Katie) Rhoten of Austin, TX, Brother: Carlton (Kathy) Rhoten of Papillion, Sister: Kathleen (Wes) Westerfield of Farragut, IA, Brother-in-law: James Porter of Omaha, Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law: John (Sharon) Jacobson, Carla (Harlan) Plager, Shirley (Ron) Conradi, and Dennis (Nila) Jacobson.

Larry is preceded in Death by his Parents: Carlton and Louise Rhoten, Sister: Elberta Porter, Nieces: Janene & Julie Porter, and Nephew: John Porter.

Funeral Services will be Friday April 10 at 1:30 P.M. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Chapel 644 Park Street, Syracuse, NE, with burial at the Unadilla Cemetery, Unadilla, NE. Family suggest memorials to the family for donation to Nebraska Game and Parks and Columbus Rescue Mission, in Larry's memory.

Visitation will be Thursday April 9 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
