Obituary
LaVerna was born August 17, 1918, in Syracuse, Nebraska, to John and Anna (Bartels) Hauschild. She went to Heaven to be with Bill on Friday, October 16, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Center, in Syracuse, at the age of 91 years, 1 month, and 29 days
LaVerna married Stephen "Bill" Davis, on July 30, 1940, at her parents home, in Syracuse. To this union they raised Stephen, Mary, and Joyce. She was a Charter member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School for 35 years, and was the Dining Room Chairman at Church for many years, in Syracuse, NE. She always had a treat when family or friends would stop by. LaVerna was an avid Reader, volunteered at Good Samaritan Center for many years, and received the 1972 Award for Nebraska Mother of the Year, and was very proud that Joyce was an Aksarben Countess in 1973...a honor bestowed on families that are recognized for their community service.
LaVerna is survived by her son Stephen Davis & wife Colleen, of Plymouth, MA, daughters Mary Fruhling & husband Ron, of Lincoln, NE, Joyce Bunger, of Omaha, NE, grandchildren Allison Davis Williams, Williamsburg, VA, Wade Fruhling, off Lincoln, NE, Kristin Fruhling Nelson, Lincoln, NE, Brooke Bunger Studt, of Omaha, NE, Scott Bunger, of Chicago, IL, & 6 great grandchildren, Margaret & Mathew Williams, Jack & Ava Fruhling, Chase & Olivia Nelson, sister-in-law Annette Davis, of Dannebrog, NE, and nephew John Hauschild
LaVerna was preceded in Death by: her parents, husband Bill Davis, on June 8, 2009, granddaughter Anne Davis Sahrmann, brother Harry Hauschild, and nephew Tom Hauschild.

Memorial service will be Monday, October 19, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1162 Mohawk Street, Syracuse, NE

VISITATION Sunday, October 18, 2009 from 5 until 8 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, at 1162 Mohawk, Syracuse, NE
Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Private Family Inurnment of the Cremains to be held at a later date.
