Leota Anna Dora Wohlers was born, September 26, 1924, in Otoe, Nebraska, to Dietrich and Aline (Sporhase) Kastens. She passed away, November 29, 2008, at the Monarch House, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 3 days.

Leota married August Wohlers, on September 15, 1943, at First Lutheran Church, North Branch, rural Avoca, Nebraska, and to this union they raised their children Sharon, and Roger. She worked at Farmers State Bank, as a teller for 30 years

Leota is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Sharon & Ken Michaelson, of Rapid City, South Dakota, and son & daughter-in-law Roger & Gloria Wohlers, of Lincoln, NE Grandchildren Jennifer Michaelson and Jared & Sheila Michaelson, Carisa and Mike Riedmiller, Curt & Corine Wohlers, of Greenville, South Carolina, and Andy Wohlers. Great grandchildren Austin, Bretton, Makayla Michaelson, Owen and Lucy Wohlers, Madison, Sophia, and Dillon Riedmiller, along with brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alvin Hillman, Leona Mason, Ruby Kastens, Wayne & Paula Wohlers, and Wilmer Wohlers, and special friend Clarence Koester and family, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Leota is preceded in death by her parents, Dietrich and Aline Kastens, and stepmother, Anna Kastens, husband August (Gus) in June 1997, 3 brothers, Harry and wife Vera, Fred, and Ralph, and 3 sisters, Anna and husbands Harry Kepler and Albert Witt, Viola Hillman, and Wilma and Leonard Brinkhoff.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 2, 2008 @ 10:30 A.M. at First Lutheran Church, North Branch, rural Avoca, Nebraska with burial at First Lutheran North Branch Cemetery.

Visitation will begin Sunday, Nov. 30, from 3 P.M. until 9 P.M. and Monday from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M., and the casket will be open one hour before services at the Church.
