Obituary
LeRoy J. Keim was born on March 9, 1923 in Walton, Nebraska to Peter and Emma (Spatz) Keim. He passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, NE at the age of 93 years, 5 months and 21 days.
LeRoy grew up in Walton, Nebraska where he graduated from High School in 1941. Upon graduation, he started farming, then the service called him during WWII. When he returned, he went back to farming moving from Walton to Syracuse in 1948. He was united in marriage on October 3, 1948 to Evelyn Reuter at Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse. In 1962, he started the implement business, first with Massey Ferguson and then added International Harvester in 1983 and Case in 1985.
LeRoy and his wife Evelyn worked side by side with her doing the bookkeeping and helping in the parts department. When he retired, he still kept involved in the family business.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Keim of Syracuse, NE, children, Bruce (Carlene) Keim of Syracuse, NE, Dennis Keim of Lincoln, NE, Karen (Scott) Kinzie of Bennet, NE, Mark (Andrea) Keim of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren, Brian Keim of Kansas City, Becky Keim of Lincoln, Tim Keim & Abbey Thoms of Syracuse, Dan Kinzie and fiancé Collette Buskirk of Kearney, Tyler Kinzie of Bennet, Joel, Eva, Lily & Evan Keim all of Lincoln. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Dorothea Campbell, William Keim, Leonard Keim, Peter Keim, Ernest Keim and a infant brother and sister.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, NE with Rev. Sarah Cordray officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2016 from 9 AM until 9 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Luther Memorial Church or Syracuse Volunteer Fire Dept.
