Obituary

Lester W. "Les" Niebrugge 82, of Indianapolis, passed away January 28, 2014. Les was born in Syracuse, Nebraska on June 13, 1931 to the late, William H. and Emma Niebrugge.

After graduation, Les served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Following his time in the service, Les went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska in Business Administration. During his career, Les worked for nearly 30 years as a Procedures Analyst with Stokely – Van Camp which later became a part of Quaker Oats.
Les was a member of Lawrence United Methodist Church, where he assisted with audits and accounting and served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Men's Bible Study group. Les loved to garden and was a member of the Marion County Master Gardener Association, where he served as a Past-President and enjoyed his time as a Garden Guide at the IMA.

Les was a great man and wonderful husband and father. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 55 years, Patty L. (Colby) Niebrugge; daughter, Ann L. Yater (Bill); brother, Delmer Niebrugge (Geri); as well as several other loving nieces and nephews.

Les was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Irene Dierking and brother, Eldon Niebrugge.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) in Rural Cook, Nebraska. Burial will be at St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Les' name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
