Obituary
Linus was born March 7, 1911 to John and Julia Massoth.
On May 20, 1937, he married Rose Sheehan in the St. Patrick's Church, Manley, Nebraska.
He passed away at the Louisville Care Center, April 16, 2007 at the age of ninety-six years of age.
Linus and Rose had eight children.
He is survived by:

Massoth, San Diego, CA, Steve Massoth, and daughter-in-law, Cindy, Manley, NE, Bob Massoth, Lincoln, NE Daughters: Rosalie Massoth, Denver, CO, Dorothy Jean Colbert and son-in-law, Bob, Plattsmouth, NE, Alice Mizerski and son-in-law, Chuck, Lincoln, NE, Marilyn Maharas, Columbus, OH, Dianne Wiles and son-in-law, Alan, Murdock, NE They were the grandparents to grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sister Dorothy Watson, Lincoln, and Jean Massoth-sister-in-law, Lacy, WA,
Dad grew up on a farm in Geneva Nebraska. He graduated from Geneva Public Schools. After many years in farming and working as a farm hand, he moved to Manley to work for a farmer by the name of Jack Stander. That is where he met his bride to be, Rose. After leaving farming, he took a job with the Nebraska Department of Roads. He was also a handyman in Manley, doing various type of construction to supplement his income. He worked for the State until his retirement in 1973. He loved fishing, and gardening. He was a devout Catholic all of his life and was member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Manley. He volunteered a great deal of time at the church. Dad was inspiration to his children. He was amazingly strong in mind and body and spirit. In the last few years of his life, when he suffered through numerous illnesses, he showed tremendous courage and never gave up. The day he passed to heaven, he told one of the nurses that he felt so good that he wanted to go dancing.
Visitation for Linus will begin Thurday, April 19th from noon till 9 P.M. with family greeting friends all at the funeral home, and visitation will be Friday from 9A.M. till 5 P.M..
Rosary for Mr. Massoth will be Friday, April 20th at 7:00 P.M. at the Church.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 21, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Manley, NE., with burial at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Manley, NE.
