Lloyd Vogler was born April 11, 1937, to George Jr and Albertena (Kupke) in South Bend, Nebraska. He was pronounced dead Thursday, February 8
th
, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 80 years, 8 months, and 28 days.
Lloyd was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Louisville, and graduated from Louisville High School in 1955. He married Rosalyn Streich, on November 25, 1958, in Murdock, Nebraska, and they raised two sons Les and Loren. Lloyd helped start the German Shorthaired Pointer Club in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1964. From 1960 – 1968 he worked at the Agronomy Department at University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Nebraska.
In 1965, the family moved to a farm North of Eagle, Nebraska, where they started to farm, and, raise cattle and horses. They moved to their present location in 1971 and turned a cornfield into a homestead. With the help of Dutch Rikli and sons Les and Loren, they started the Semen Centre in 1983, which has continued to grow and recently expanded with the purchase of a similar business in McCook, Nebraska. Many locals may remember that in 1986 they raised the most delicious strawberries and ran a strawberry business for six years.
Lloyd served on the Cass County Fair Board, the 4-H Council, and the Trinity Lutheran Church Council. He made many acquaintances across the state through the cattle industry.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Rosalyn, of Ashland, NE, sons Leslie (Susan) Vogler, and Loren (Laura) Vogler, grandchildren Heather Freeman ~ Christine (Tyler) Gowan ~ Melanie (Trevor) Wynegar ~ Paden Vogler ~ Thane Fenstermaker ~ Shelby Vogler ~ Trey Vogler ~ Mallory Pavlik ~ 4 great grandchildren, his brother Lawrence (Kathy) Vogler ~ brother-in-law Clayton (Susan) Streich, sister-in-law Ramona (Robert) Dittrick along with nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. with a Prayer Service, Sunday at 5:00 P.M. all at Trinity Lutheran Church, 31104 Church Road, Murdock, NE. Burial will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Family suggest memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Family for later designation.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5-7 P.M. all at Trinity Lutheran Church 31104 Church Road, Murdock, Nebraska.
