Lois P. Bornemeier age 88 of Elmwood, NE passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Old Cheney Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She was born on July 31, 1932 in Cedar Creek, NE the daughter of Edward Levi & Doris Thelma (Smith) Wilson.

After High School, Lois attended Peru State College for Normal Training and then taught in country schools.  She was united in marriage to Jerry E. Bornemeier on June 4, 1954 in Elmwood, Nebraska.  Together they made their home on a farm near Elmwood and raised three sons, Michael, Danny and Randy.

Throughout her life, she worked in a variety of capacities including the Elgin Watch Company, selling advertising for the Plattsmouth Journal, cleaning at her church, being a store clerk at both the Cenex Station and the grocery store and also helping in various capacities at Grandpa's Woods Golf Course.  But, what was most important to Lois was being a homemaker, mom, grandma and great grandma.

She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and as they grew up, she cherished going to their activities.

Lois was always ready to travel whether it was a bus tour, a trip to the casino or a fishing trip to Minnesota, she especially loved the conversations with friends and family along the way.  Aside from traveling, she enjoyed her flower gardens, sewing, dancing, ceramics and playing cards.   She was a long time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Women.

Lois is survived by her sons, Michael (Pam) Bornemeier, Elmwood, NE, Danny (Myrna) Bornemeier, Elmwood, NE, Randy (Thea) Bornemeier, Murdock, NE, six grandchildren, Joe (Heather) Bornemeier of Elmwood, NE, Josh Bornemeier of Elmwood, NE, Clint Bornemeier of Murdock, NE, Tanner Bornemeier of Elmwood, NE, Thad Bornemeier of Murdock, NE and Tara Bornemeier of Omaha, NE; 2 great grandchildren, Layton & Brady Bornemeier, sisters-in-law, Ruby Wilson of Weeping Water, NE and Roberta Bornemeier of Elmwood, NE.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry Bornemeier, brothers, Ted and Richard Wilson and brother-in-law, Vernon Bornemeier.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 1:30 PM at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elmwood, NE with Rev. Michelle Chesnut officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, April 26, 2021 from Noon until 8:00 PM with family present from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the Elmwood Community Center or St. Paul United Methodist Church.
