Lois Marie Hespen was born August 6, 1924, in Syracuse, to Alfred and Anna (Kastens) Lange. She passed away on Monday March 16, 2009, at Good Samaritan Center, in Syracuse, NE, at the age 84 years, 7 months, and 10 days.
Lois married John Hespen Jr., on February 27, 1944, in Syracuse, Nebraska and to this union they raised 3 sons Roger, Jerry, and Rodney. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #100, V.F.W. Post 5547Auxilary, Luther Memorial Church Council, Sunday School Teacher, WELCA Quilters, and LWA Quilting. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, golfing, and Nebraska Football.
Lois is survived by her 2-sons Jerry and wife Judy Hespen, and Rodney and wife Lana Hespen, all of Syracuse, NE, 3-grandchildren Ed and Joanne Zastera, of Syracuse, NE, Chelsey and Tory Schommer, of Omaha, NE, and Ashley Hespen, of Chicago, IL, 5-great grandchildren, Paige, Ethan, and Jackson Zastera, Sofia, and Olivia Schommer, several sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lois is preceded in Death by her parents Alfred and Anna Lange, husband John Jr. in November 1987, son Roger, and brother Howard Lange
Memorial Service for Lois Hespen will be Friday, March 20, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Syracuse, Nebraska, with burial at a later time. Family Suggests Memorials To: Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
Visitation to sign the Book but NO Viewing due to Cremation will be Wednesday from noon until 9 P.M., Thursday from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6 until 8 all at the Funeral Home.
