Obituary

Lois "Sue" Johnson was born on September 13, 1918 in Wauneta, Nebraska to Charles and Nancy Brown. She passed away on Monday, February 25, 2008 at The Monarch in Lincoln, NE at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 12 days.

Sue was married on March 21, 1936 in Ogallala, Nebraska to B.A. Johnson and four children came from this union, Don, Chuck, Karen and Jim.

She was a constant companion at all of the music contests and conventions Bud attended. She was very supportive of all of Bud's and their children's, endeavors. She also loved traveling with B.A. as he tuned pianos in eastern Nebraska and northern Missouri. Often you would find her at an antique shop looking for bargains. She and Bud were married 62+ years.

Sue (as she was always known) loved fishing, and did so as long as she could. She also enjoyed driving the school bus for Syracuse/Dunbar/Avoca Schools for many years. Her love of cooking carried over to her residence at Linden View Assisted Living in Syracuse, Nebraska where she helped every morning in the kitchen for the past three years. She has many friends there and loved to play dominoes with them each day.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse, NE American Legion Auxiliary, and Brilliant Star Chapter 178 O.E.S.

She is survived by Children: Don Johnson and wife Barbara of Fremont, NE; Karen Koch and husband Ken of Lincoln, NE; Jim Johnson and wife Elaine of Omaha, NE, 8 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, Brother: Hobart Brown of Yuma, CO; Sister-in-law: Arleta Barkhoff of Logan, IA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in Death by: parents, husband, B.A. Johnson, son, Chuck Johnson, grandson, Mark Johnson, twin brother, Lowell Brown brothers, Cecil Brown and Forest Brown.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse, NE with Rev. John Finster officiating.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 27th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 A.M. Thursday, February 28th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M.

Memorials are suggested in Lieu of Flowers to Linden View Assisted Living Center in Syracuse, NE.

Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, NE.
