Lois Faye Persinger, age 88, of Syracuse, passed away on May 22, 2025, at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln. She was born on September 26, 1936, to Raymond John and Dorothy Mae (Hileman) Addleman in Omaha. Lois graduated from Louisville High School with the Class of 1954 and later married the love of her life, James Ray Persinger, on August 22, 1954, at her parents' farm near Louisville.

Lois and James lived near Louisville until 1962, then moved to Springfield, where she cared for their children and helped on the family farm. In 1967, she began working as a lunch lady for the Platteview School District until 1975. She also managed a bean-walking crew for a couple of years. They later moved to Pawnee City, where Lois served as a supervisor at a sewing factory and eventually purchased and managed the Rainbow Drive-In in Table Rock. In 1989, they moved to Syracuse, where she worked at Wheatons for 13 years until retiring.

Lois was active in her children's lives and community organizations, especially as a 4-H and extension club leader. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Rae Cotton; grandson, Travis (Kelly) Findlay; sisters-in-law, Marge Addleman and Marlene Persinger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Ray Persinger; son, Kenneth James Persinger; brother, Raymond Keith Addleman; and sisters, Judy Howell and Norma Rae Hammons.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, at 10:30 a.m. at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Louisville.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 27, from 4 to 8 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
