Obituary

Lois Eva (Dickman) Schomerus was born April 21, 1924 in Cass County, Nebraska. She departed this life on Monday March 5, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, NE. Lois was born to William Louis and Eda (Hobbie) Dickman, of Nehawka, Nebraska. Lois was baptized at Bethel Evangelical Church in Nebraska City, on October 20, 1924. She was also confirmed at Bethel Evangelical Church. Lois married Ervin Arnold Schomerus on March 17, 1943, in Rock Port, MO.

Lois lived on a farm near Nehawka and in Nebraska City and after her marriage to Ervin they lived on farms around Murray, Dunbar, and Syracuse. Lois and Ervin moved in to Syracuse in 1997, after Ervin suffered a stroke and for the next 9 years, and 9 months Lois devoted herself to taking care of Ervin at home.

She is survived by her children Shirley Wilson, of Unadilla, NE, Wayne and Kathy Schomerus, of Syracuse, NE, Donna Royal, Waukesha, WI, Kathy and Bill Royal, of Lincoln, NE, Lynn and Anita Schomerus, of Unadilla, NE, Keith and Linda Schomerus, of Bennet, NE, Gayle and Brenda Schomerus, of Syracuse, NE, and Carla and Wayne Clymer of Dunbar, NE, Grandchildren & Spouses: Terri & Steve Bubke, Julie Wilson, Michael & Jen Wilson, Angela & Jeff Vogt, Barbara & Clayton Johnson, Rebecca & Will Davis, Sally & Justin Miller, Chris Royal, Greg Royal, Lori & Jeff Schultz, Mark & Jodi Royal, Nathan Royal, Nicole and Michael Keslar, Jason Schomerus, Jamie & Jeff Draper, Lisa & Nate Dowding, Keri Schomerus, Kyle Schomerus, Alyssa Anthony, Ashley Anthony, Connor Schomerus, Kayla Clymer, Rachel Clymer, Great-Grandchildren: Jesse & Megan Bubke, Brianna & Brody Wilson, Andrew & Adam Vogt, Cameron & Logan Johnson, Brendan, Anastasia, Maddux and Gianna Davis, Emma Lanik, Tyleigh and Jackson Miller, Tiffany, Jacob, Caitlyn and Nicholaus Royal, Jordan Royal, Sierra Ihde, Karson & Karter Jeffrey, Finley Draper, Hailey Dowding, and brother-in-law Don Schomerus, of Nebraska City, NE.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ervin, parents Louis and Eda (Hobbie) Dickman, granddaughter Cynthia Wilson Hawkins, infant granddaughter Jody Royal, infant grandson Aaron Royal, and sons-in-law Robert Wilson and Donald Royal.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 511 5th Street, Syracuse, Nebraska, with burial at Park Hill Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to the Families Choice.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. and the family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. all at the funeral home.
