Lola J. Jay was born on November 23, 1941 in Sutton, Nebraska to Ruben W. and Viola (Rauscher) Griess. She passed away on Saturday March 3, 2012 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

Lola married Ralph Jay in Sutton, Nebraska on May 22, 1964 and to this union they raised 2 children, Karla and Brian. She worked at Maverick Media for more than 20 years. Lola loved gardening and canning her crop. She also enjoyed baking.

Lola is survived by her husband Ralph Jay of Syracuse, NE, daughter Karla (Mike) Lamphere, son Brian Jay of Omaha, NE, Grandchildren Shelby & Jacob, Brother Rolland Griess of Hastings, NE, Sister Marcie (Dennis) Vitash of Diller, NE.

Preceded in Death by her parents.

Memorial Services for Lola will be Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse, Nebraska with Rev. John Finster officiating.

Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery at a later time.

Memorials are suggested to the Family's Choice, of St. John's United Church of Christ.
