Lorenz Henry Otto Albers, Jr. was born on January 16, 1918 in Elmwood, Nebraska to Lorenz, Sr. and Ella (Dankleff) Albers. He passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 10 months, 13 days.

Lorenz was raised in the Elmwood area and attended the District 71 Mount Hope School. At an early age, he began farming a career that he would cherish his entire life. He was united in marriage on September 12, 1940 to Rosina Borman at the First Lutheran Church (North Branch). Together they raised one son, Leland and recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.

He was a life time member of First Lutheran Church (North Branch) where he once served on the Church Council. He was a quiet man with a great love for his family and farming.

He is survived by his wife Rosina Albers of Syracuse, Nebraska, son Leland Albers and wife Kathy of Otoe, Nebraska; grandson, Jason Albers of Otoe, Nebraska, brothers, Robert Albers and wife Jean of Omaha, Nebraska, Gilbert and wife Linda of Florida, sisters-in-law Betty Albers of Syracuse, Nebraska and Dee Albers of Lincoln, Nebraska. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and one cousin, Lyle Dankleff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Augusta Albers, sister, Bernice Stubbendick, brothers, John Albers, Fritz Albers and Gerald Albers.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Fist Lutheran Church (North Branch) in rural Avoca, Nebraska with Rev. Jackie Tjarks officiating.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 9 AM until 9 PM with family greeting friends from 2-4 PM at the Funeral Home.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Syracuse Rescue Squad or First Lutheran Church (North Branch).

Interment will be in the North Branch Cemetery.
