Obituary

Loris Roettger was born in Speed, Kansas on March 27, 1931 to John L. and Elsie (Ring) Pool. She died on February 2, 2018 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 5 days.

She married Jack L. Allen on October 11, 1951 at the Douglas Christian Church. To this union three children were born, Doug, Don, and Lori. She and Jack owned and operated grocery stores in Douglas and Otoe. After Jack's death, she worked as a cashier at Harold's Grocery in Syracuse and was also the Otoe Town Clerk. Loris was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Ladies Pinochle Card Group, Couples Pinochle Group, Evergreen Extension Club, was on the Otoe Rescue, was an American Heart CPR Instructor and was an avid Husker Fan.  She was an over 50 year member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe, as well as a member of the LCW – Lutheran Church Women. After Jack's death, she married Myron Roettger on December 3, 1977 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe, Nebraska. They enjoyed dancing and making wood crafts together.

Loris is survived by her sons Doug and wife Linda Allen of Louisville, NE; Donald and wife Dana`Allen of Avoca, NE, stepchildren – Rae and Virgil Goltz of Comfrey, MN , Richard and wife Cindy Roettger of Lincoln, Robert and wife Melinda Roettger of Orlando, Florida. Grandchildren, Josh and wife Kate Allen, Jackie and husband Jason Heard, Jennie and husband Brendan Carl; Dorey and husband Mike Heiser, Dawna and husband Kenneth Noland; Adam and wife Anne Goltz, Amber and husband Nathan Lang, Andrew and wife Jill Goltz, Alex Goltz; Ryan Roettger and special friend Alicia Prewett, Matt  and wife Jess Roettger; Richard Roettger, Lori and husband Mel Dennis, Desiree and husband Bryan McKinney and great grandchildren,  Maddox, Laine, Reese and Avery Allen; Jacob and Joslyn Heard; Carsen and Libbey Heiser; Heaven Straw, Shelden Noland; Hannah Lang; Broderick and Nicholas Goltz; McKayla and Noah Roettger; Brayden and Molly Dennis; Zoe Waz, Hallie, Tanner, and Charley McKinney, special nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, daughter Lori Allen of Florida, husbands, Jack and Myron, 6 brothers, Edgar, Harlan, Jiggs, Larry, Warren, and Bob.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe, Nebraska with Rev. Mark Ekstrom officiating.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM with the family greeting friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse, Nebraska.

Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Douglas, Nebraska.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
