Lorraine Holscher was born on January 13, 1917 in Bottineau, North Dakota to Oscar and Lydia (Larson) Larshus. She departed this life on Monday, June 23, 2008 at her home in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 10 days.
Lorraine was raised in North Dakota and after High School, she attended college and obtained at teaching certificate. She taught in rural schools in North Dakota for a short time. She then moved to Seattle, Washington and worked in the Boeing Airplane Plant during World War II. She then moved to Nebraska to visit her sister and met and married Bernard Holscher on June 5, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska. Lorraine and Bernard were fortunate enought to celebrate 60 years of marriage over the 2008 Memorial Day Weekend. After marriage, she taught in the district 10 school for many years. She also worked for the Gas Company and as a Dietary worker for Good Samaritan Center.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse where she was a member of various church groups. She also was a member of the Laff-A-Lott Project Club and Mid Otoe County V.F.W. #5547 Auxiliary all of Syracuse.
She is survived by her Husband: Bernard Holscher of Syracuse, NE; Daughters: Nancy Holscher of Lincoln, NE; Kris Kealiher and husband Gerald of Polk,NE; Granddaughter: Erin Holke of Riverside, California; Sisters: Melva Holscher of Syracuse, NE; Ruth Peterson of North Dakota. Also Survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Grandson, Eric Holke
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ – Syracuse, Nebraska with Rev. John Finster, officiating.
Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery – Syracuse, NE
