Lynn E. Beecham, 65, of Omaha, formerly of Palmyra, was born on November 7, 1958, to Wilton & Betty (Schroeder) Beecham in Syracuse. He passed away at his home at Quality Living Inc. in Omaha on October 17, 2024. In 1977 he graduated from Palmyra High School where he earned numerous all conference letters and awards in 3 sports. He held the school long jump record and was able to attend the State Tournament. His senior year, he was selected as the Homecoming King.
While attending Dana College on a football and track scholarship, he suffered a brain stem injury that left him in a coma for many months and it took many more months before his whisper could be heard. His loving parents traveled with Lynn from the Mayo clinic to Iowa, Minnesota and New York looking for a miracle that was not to be found.
In 1990, Lynn settled at QLI in Omaha. He enjoyed trivia, Creighton and Big Red sports, attending church, collecting Coca Cola memorabilia, casinos and family visits. Lynn had faith, kindness and grit every day. It's his time to walk, talk, eat and dance in heaven like a free bird.
He is survived by his brother Jim (Tammy) Beecham; sister Ann Beecham; nieces & nephews Cody (Shayla) Beecham, Quinn (Kara) Beecham, Jeff (Megan) Tegtmeier; 2 great nieces; 6 great nephews; brother-in-law Donald Tegtmeier; cousins Gail Ann Schroeder & Dale Schroeder; special friend Eileen and all the caregivers at QLI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharon Tegtmeier, aunts, uncles and cousins.
