Madeline Elizabeth Hunt was born on February 5, 1908 in Eureka, Kansas to Roscoe and Zippora (Alexander) Wilcox. She departed this life on Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Sunrise Country Manor in Milford, Nebraska at the age of 100 years, 4 months and 18 days.
Madeline graduated from Burr High School with the Class of 1926. She was united in marriage on February 27, 1937 to Dell Hunt in St. Joseph, Missouri. Together, they raised two children, Stan and Sharon. Madeline made their home in Douglas, Nebraska and she became involved with the Douglas Methodist Church where she was active with various church committees, woman's society and longtime church organist. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the DouglasStudy Club. Besides caring for her home and family, she also taught school for several years.
She is survived by her Son: Stan Hunt and wife Judy of Douglas, NE; Daughter
Sharon White and husband Bill of Milford, NE; 4 Grandchildren: Lori
White Beebe, Thomas White, Melanie Hunt Hecker, Christopher Hunt. 10 Great
Grandchildren: Brittany & Ryan Beebe, Rylee Hunt, Anna, Michael, Nicole &
Josh White, John, Patrick, & Katie Hecker.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Dell Hunt (June 2, 1993), Sisters:
Naomi Ballard, Mary Sugden, Twin Brother, Levi Wilcox.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. – Rosehill
Cemetery – Douglas, NE followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. at the Douglas United Methodist Church with Rev. Lyn Seiser officiating.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
