Marcene Bottcher was born on February 28, 1927 in Peru, Nebraska to Cecil & Evelyn (Adkins) Aufenkamp. She passed away at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, NE on June 6 at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

Marcene married Wm. "Bill" Bottcher on July 27, 1947 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse, NE and to this union they raised 4 children, Sandi, Daniel, June, and Beverly. Marcene was a lifelong dairy farmer. She also worked as a nurse's aide and was an assistant for Dr. Williams for 16 years. Marcene was very involved with the St. John's Women's fellowship. She also served as a church board member.

Marcene is survived by her Husband Wm. "Bill" Bottcher, Children: Sandi (Gary) Nelson, Daniel (Valerie) Bottcher, June (Dick) Morrissey, Beverly (John) Blair, Grandchildren: Luke Blair and Rachel Blair, Jennifer and Chris Osten, Jared and Allison Bottcher, Rob and Sally Morrissey. 3 Great Grandchildren, Sisters: Marie (Joe) Pennisi, Patty Hyatt, Brother: Dick (Ann) Aufenkamp, Sister-in-law: Sylvia Stubbendeck.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, 4 Brothers and 1 Sister.

Funeral Services will be Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse, NE with Rev. John Finster officiating. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery also in Syracuse.

Visitation will be on June 10, 2012 from 1 P.M. until 8 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Food Bank or Camp Kaleo.
