Obituary

Margaret E. Brehm, 95 of Syracuse, NE formally Rural Unadilla, was born September 15, 1918 to Orris & Mamie (Schutt) Brink in Neligh, NE. She passed away on December 6, 2013 at Holmes Lake Manor in Lincoln, NE.

Margaret attended Wayne State College and received her Secretary's Degree. She moved from Oakdale, NE to Washington, DC to work for the War Department. She then moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and to Unadilla, NE. Margaret met Richard Brehm at Capital Beach Amusement Park in Lincoln and they married on November 3, 1946 at the Congregational Church in Neligh, NE. She was involved with the VFW #5547 Women's Auxiliary, Women's Fellowship and volunteered at the Otoe Co. Museum. She also belonged to Emanon Extension Club and was a 4-H leader for 25+ years.



Margaret is survived by her Children: Dean & wife Jane Brehm of Henderson, NE, Wayne & wife Martha Sue (Marty) Brehm of Grand Island, NE, Lois & husband Jerry Kiester of Des Moines, IA, Milan & wife Christie Brehm of Unadilla, NE, Marilyn & husband Harry Wimer of Lincoln, NE, Grandchildren: Tyson Brehm, Troy Brehm, Stuart & wife Kim Brehm, Holly & husband Shad Salmon, Kyla & husband Lance Routson, Heidi & husband Brian Zaversnik, Sarah & husband Brett Ehlers, Erin Velazco, Randy Brehm & fiancé Megan Bottcher and daughter Lauren, Austin Fentiman, Travis & wife Anne-Marie Fentiman, Emily & husband Omar Tuz, Richard Campbell, Step Grandchildren: Jared & wife Amy Wimer, Natalie & husband Brian George, Great Grandchildren: Ethan Brehm, Kelsey Brehm, Caitlin Salmon, Rylan Salmon, Paige Routson, Blair Zaversnik, Alexander Zaversnik, Tucker Ehlers, Tessa Ehlers, Diego Velazco, Aiden Velazco, Evelyn Fentiman, Marcus Tuz, Step Great Grandchildren: Shawn Wimer, Eric Wimer, Meghan Townsend, Paisley George.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Richard in 1997, Daughter Sharon Campbell in 1998, 2 brothers Merle Brink, Arlo Brink and Granddaughter Tori Brehm.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday December 11 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 10 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6 until 8 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, NE.

Memorials are suggested to Otoe County Museum, St. John's UCC or Flags of VFW.
